The gap between leaders FK Ekranas and challengers FBK Kaunas remained at four points after both recorded victories at the weekend.

Ninth win
Ekranas beat FK Vetra 3-1 to claim their ninth victory of the season, with midfield player Aurimas Kucys opening the scoring on six minutes. However, Vetra's Nigerian forward Israel Douglas fired in his first goal in the Lithuanian top flight to level 20 minutes later. Ekranas dominated the second half and clinched victory thanks to goals from Povilas Luksys and Mantas Savenas on 49 and 82 minutes.

Kaunas revenge
Kaunas kept pace with the leaders as they beat third-placed FK Atlantas 1-0 to avenge their defeat by the same opponent earlier in the campaign. Former Atlantas player Martynas Karalius was the hero for Kaunas, scoring the decisive goal with a long-range effort on 58 minutes.

Sensational Sviesa
Lithuanian first division newcomers FK Sviesa produced the surprise result of the weekend when they overcame FK Suduva Marijampole, Nerijus Astrauskas' 24th-minute goal proving the difference. The victory was only Sviesa's second this season, their first coming against the same opponent earlier in the season.

Match postponed
The league match between FK Žalgiris Vilnius and FK Sakalas was postponed due to Zalgiris's UEFA Intertoto Cup fixture against Sweden's Örgryte IS. Meanwhile, Sakalas took an inexperienced side to face FK Nevezis Kedainiai in the Lithuanian Cup and were handed a 9-1 defeat. Sakalas are the only top-flight team to be eliminated from the competition before the quarter-finals.
