Article body
Hannover 96 have signed Marc Ziegler and Christoph Dabrowski to help them comply with a German Football League (DFL) ruling.
Keeper on loan
DFL rules dictate that each club in the top flight and 2. Bundesliga must have 12 German players in their squad; Hannover only had seven prior to today's double deal. Goalkeeper Ziegler will join on a one-year loan from FK Austria Wien, while DSC Arminia Bielefeld midfield player Dabrowski will cost €440,000 after inking a three-year contract.
Tally increased
Hannover last week increased their collection of native talent by signing Silvio Schröter on a free transfer from FC Energie Cottbus. The new arrivals will take the tally of German players to nine, and club officials are confident recently-retired duo Jörg Sievers and Carsten Linke will agree to become stand-by squad players.
Final piece
The final piece in the jigsaw is Albanian Altin Lala, who will no longer count as a foreign player next season.
