Article body
TVMK Tallinn secured their second important victory in a week with a comfortable 3-0 away victory over FC Levadia Maardu.
Krõlov penalty
Having beaten FC Flora on penalties to lift the Estonian Cup on 27 May, TVMK remained just two points behind leaders Flora following a confident display against Levadia - the 1999 and 2000 champions. Levadia's Maksim Rõtškov and Mati Pari both missed early chances before Andrei Krõlov opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Andrei Kalimullin brought down Ingemar Teever inside the area.
Two for Teever
Teever scored twice in the second half, heading in Krõlov's cross three minutes after the restart and blasting past goalkeeper Artur Kotenko after 71 minutes, to take his season's tally to nine goals in ten matches. TVMK goalkeeper Sergei Ussoltsev has now not conceded a goal for 426 minutes, still two hours short of his personal best as well as Mart Poom's Estonian record of 756 minutes.
Zahovaiko equals record
Flora maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 away win against JK Tulevik Viljandi. Lithuanian defender Tomas Sirevicius opened the scoring before Estonian Under-21 international Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko scored for the eighth consecutive match to equal the record of Sergei Bragin set in 1992.
Valga held
Elsewhere, FC Valga were held to a goalless draw by FC Kuressaare, the only amateur side of the Meistriliiga, while JK Trans Narva suffered a surprise 2-1 home defeat against FC Levadia Tallinn, who moved up to fifth place in the table.
