FC Spartak-Alania Vladikavkaz coach Revaz Dzodzuashvili has resigned following a home defeat on Sunday.

FC Spartak-Alania Vladikavkaz are looking for their eighth coach in four years after Revaz Dzodzuashvili resigned following a 3-1 home defeat by FC Torpedo-Metallurg Moskva.

Brisk departure
The Georgian coach, who was in charge of the Latvian and Georgian national sides earlier in his career, said goodbye to his players after the final whistle yesterday. The club have had an up-and-down start to the current Premier-Liga season, recording admirable victories against the likes of FC Lokomotiv Moskva and FC Spartak Moskva, but losing to smaller sides.

Two-year deal
Having saved FC Uralan Elista from relegation last season, Dzodzuashvili signed a two-year contract with Spartak-Alania in the winter but is making an early exit. This will be the fourth consecutive season in which the club have had to change coach during a campaign.

More departures
It is expected that the club will make further changes. Two weeks ago, chief executive Batraz Bitarov left the club to join FC Rostov, while chairman Mihail Shatalov said that three players - Bakhtiyor Ashurmatov, Emin Guliyev and Olexandr Stepanov - will have to return to their original clubs because Spartak-Alania cannot afford their transfer fees.
