Christiansen, 30, has signed a three-year contract with Hannover and will replace Fredi Bobic, who has joined Hertha BSC Berlin. Hannover sports director Ricardo Moar said: "We are delighted to have reached an agreement. He is not a direct replacement for Bobic - he is a different kind of player, but the fans can still look forward to a lot of goals."
Top scorer
The Dane, who has a Spanish passport, was joint top scorer in the Bundesliga this season with Giovane Elber of FC Bayern München - registering 21 goals in 34 appearances. Last season he struck 17 times as Bochum were promoted to the top flight.
Spanish experience
Christiansen's previous clubs include FC Barcelona, Real Oviedo, Real Sporting de Gijón, Club Atlético Osasuna and Real Racing Club Santander. After dropping into the Spanish third division with Terrassa CF, he bounced back with successful spells at Greek side Panionios GS and Herfølge BK in Denmark before a transfer to Bochum in 2001.
