Article body
With the serious matters already settled, both champions FC Sheriff Tiraspol and runners-up CSF Zimbru Chisinau played their final games of the season without their coaches.
Assistants in charge
Gabi Balint - who is leaving Sheriff - and Zimbru coach Gabi Stan were both in Bucharest to take an exam for the professional coaching licence, meaning assistants Zoltan Jashko and Ferenc Baiko took charge of the teams.
Lacusta hits winner
Sheriff were certainly not affected, beating FC Dacia Chisinau, the season's surprise package, 2-1. All the goals came in an eleven-minute spell in the first half: Victor Comleonoc put Sheriff ahead, Alexandr Golban equalised from the penalty spot, then Dan Lacusta hit the winner.
Politehnica face play-off
Vladimir Shishelov scored his seventh goal in seven games in Zimbru's 1-1 draw with FC Tiraspol. Aleksandr Bichkov struck Tiraspol's equaliser. Elsewhere, FC Agro Chisinau beat 1-0 FC Politehnica Chisinau thanks to a goal from Serghey Baran. Politehnica will now play a promotion/relegation game with FC Unisport-Auto Chisinau on 16 June.
