Reigning champions KR Reykjavík took top spot after a 1-0 win against ÍA Akranes on Saturday.
Sole goal
Arnar Gunnlaugsson linked up well with team-mate Veigar Pall Gunnarsson to open the scoring for KR after 14 minutes, but although they dominated throughout, they could not add to their tally.
One-point lead
The win left KR a point clear at the top of the table after neighbours Valur Reykjavik's winning start ended in a crushing 4-0 defeat against FH Hafnarfjördur.
Down to earth
After wins in their opening two games, Valur came crashing down to earth in Hafnarfjördur, and conceded after 19 minutes as defender Tommy Nielsen scored a penalty. Jon Thorgrimur Stefansson doubled their advantage two minutes later.
Insult to injury
Allan Borgvardt deepedned the gloom for Valur by scoring his side's third goal on 77 minutes and Jonas Grani Gardarsson added a fourth five minutes from time to add insult to injury.
Fylkir beaten
Cup holders Fylkir also fell to their first defeat of the season as a goal from ÍBV Vestmannæyjar's Unnar Holm Olafsson after 66 minutes saw them return home from their trip to the Vestmannæyjar islands empty handed.
Cheeky goal
There was early drama at the National stadium in Reykjavik as KA Akureyri travelled to meet Thróttur Reykjavik. Thróttur opened the scoring after Björgolfur Takefusa cheekily stole the ball off KA's Danish goalkeeper Sören Byskov while he was preparing to take a kick and placed it into the empty net.
Man disadvantage
Two yellow cards were then awarded to KA's Slobodan Milisic, although the one-man disadvantage did not prevent them from equalising through Norwegian Steinar Teneden after 35 minutes.
Thróttur triumph
However, despite losing their opening two games, newly-promoted Thróttur's nerve held and they regained the lead from a Takefusa free-kick after 66 minutes and rounded off a 3-1 scoreline with a late goal from Hjalmar Thorarinsson.
Kekic hat-trick
In Friday's game, Sinisa Kekic was the hero for Grindavík, scoring all three goals as his side won 3-2 against struggling Fram Reykjavík. Andres Jonsson had given Fram the lead before Kekic scored in the 43rd, 75th and 79th minutes to give his side the advantage. Vidar Gudjonsson pulled back a late goal for Fram.
