Contract expires
The Belgian Football Association (URBSFA) ruled that the 21-year-old was free to leave Lokeren when his contract expires at the end of this month. The association had stepped into the row between the two clubs after Standard claimed they had exercised an option in Bangoura's contract allowing them to extend the deal.
Successful season
Bangoura announced earlier this year that he had signed a contract with Standard yet still enjoyed a successful season, scoring 16 goals in 27 matches to help the club to a third-placed finish in the Belgian first division. He joined Lokeren in 2000 and in three seasons played 74 league games in total, scoring 41 goals.
