Article body
Volodymyr Muntyan is the new coach of FC Kryvbas Kryviy Rih, replacing Olexander Ischenko at the Ukrainian Premier League club.
Year-long break
Ischenko left the club last week after his ten-month contract expired, freeing the way for Muntyan, the former Ukraine Under-21 coach, to return to coaching more than a year after he left Russian side FC Spartak-Alania Vladikavkaz.
No Shevelyukhin
The 57-year-old Muntyan takes over at a club that narrowly avoided relegation last season. Speaking after his appointment, he said "I have a few players in my notebook who could strengthen the team, but we will decide on that later." However, he will not be able to call on U21 international Olexandr Shevelyukhin, who has returned to champions FC Dynamo Kyiv after his loan spell.
Much-travelled career
Muntyan began his coaching career as an assistant to the legendary Valeriy Lobanovskiy at Dynamo. His long CV includes spells abroad with the Madagascar club FC Cosfaba and the Guinea national team.
