Returns from Greece
The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Greek Cup finalists Aris Thessaloniki FC, has another two years left on his Ajax contract but no longer appears to be in the plans of coach Ronald Koeman.
Dutch youth international
Knopper, a former Dutch youth international, broke into the Ajax first team in the 1997/98 season. His best season with the Amsterdam club came in 1999/00 when he scored 15 goals in 33 matches.
