'Big blow'
The 42-year-old has undergone knee surgery three times in the past 18 months and now needs yet another operation. "This has been a big blow to us as we were such a close team, but we simply couldn't go on any longer with the coach having such significant health problems, the task was too big," said the club's managing director Stefan Reiter. "We hope that we are able to announce a new coach tomorrow."
Pasching rise
Zellhofer has been largely responsible for Pasching's astonishing rise having taken charge of the club in 1996 when they were in the fifth tier of the Austrian league and led them to the Bundesliga - where they finished fifth in their first-ever top-flight season.
Intertoto challenge
Pasching face German outfit SV Werder Bremen on Wednesday in the first leg of their UEFA Intertoto Cup semi-final tie.
