Mahmut targets
The Turkish Under-21 international has agreed a three-year deal with the option of a further two seasons. "I am ambitious," said Mahmut, 20. "I have come here to be successful."
Betis keep busy
In Spain, Real Betis Balompié have signed striker Ismael López from relegated Deportivo Alavés. The 24-year-old, who was on loan at Real Murcia CF last season, becomes the Sevilla club's first summer recruit after inking a four-year contract.
Murcia signing
Betis's other piece of transfer business involved sending their Portuguese forward Joao Tomás, 28, on loan to Super Liga side Vitória Guimarães. Meanwhile, Murcia have added the former Málaga CF defender Mikel Roteta to their ranks in a one-year deal. Roteta, 33, becomes the promoted club's fifth signing after defender Ibán Cuadrado, midfielder Julio Alvarez, and strikers David Karanka and Luis García.
Leicester strengthen
Another promoted club, England's Leicester City FC, have handed Northern Irish international defender Gerry Taggart a new twelve-month contract. As well as the Taggart deal, the Midlands club also snapped up French defender Nicolas Priet on a free transfer from Olympique Lyonnais.
Viborg boost
Finally, for the second time in five days an AGF Århus player has left the club for Danish rivals Viborg FF. Defender Jesper Andersen, 24, has followed midfield player Morten Poulsen to the Jutland outfit on a two-and-a-half year contract.
