Chiesa arrives from S.S. Lazio having agreed to cancel his contract with the Rome club. He joined Lazio last summer from AC Fiorentina but failed to hold down a place in coach Roberto Mancini's starting lineup, making 12 league appearances and scoring twice.
International experience
The Genoa-born striker, who made his Serie A debut in 1989 with Sampdoria UC, has also played for US Cremonese and Parma AC in a top-flight career which has brought 106 goals. He scored seven times in 17 appearances for Italy and his experience could prove vital for Siena who, as Serie B champions, face the first Serie A campaign in their history.
