Alcaraz, who made his name with RC Recreativo de Huelva, the club he led into the Primera División but who were relegated in May, has signed a 12-month contract. He left Recreativo at the end of the season and now replaces Nando Yosu, Racing's caretaker manager.
Final appearance
"It is a good challenge for me at a traditional club," said Alcaraz, who at 37 is the top flight's youngest coach. The trainer, who also took Recreativo to the Spanish Cup final, which they lost against RCD Mallorca, has a reputation for working with young players.
