Slovan bring back Valovic

Members

ŠK Slovan Bratislava have agreed a deal for coach Jozef Valovic to return to the club after an eight-year absence.

Radolský gone
Valovic has been brought back on a one-year contract after the departure of previous coach Dusan Radolský from the Tehelné Pole stadium. Radolský left to join Polish league runners-up Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski at the end of the season.

Glory days
In 2002/03, Slovan finished third in the Slovakian Super League, despite holding top spot for most of the campaign. The 51-year-old Valovic spent 19 years with the club in various roles, rising from youth coach to assistant under head coach Dusan Gallis in the early 1990s, when Slovan won four league titles.

Experience abroad
Valovic then took charge of FC DAC Dunajská Streda and also acted as joint-coach for the Slovakian national team. He returned home after brief spells coaching in Cyprus and Qatar to lead second division side FK KOBA Senec. His appointment means half of the ten top-flight teams in Slovakia have changed their coach in the summer.
