Negoiations end
Christensen had a deal to stay until the end of 2003, but the collapse of negotiations over a new contract led to his leaving with immediate effect. He will be replaced by assistant manager Peter Frandsen.
'We are sorry'
AB chairman Jens Hjortskov said: "We have been more than satisfied with Ove Christensen's work and we are sorry that our relationship had to end this way, but we have been unable to reach an agreement." He added: "We are confident that Peter Frandsen can handle the challenge of being manager."
'Offer came too late'
Strikers Sammy Youssouf and Mohammed Zidan both left the club recently, but Christensen said that had not been a factor in his departure. "The offer simply came too late," he said.
