Hässler heads for Austria

Austrian adventure
The 37-year-old midfield player made his 400th and final appearance in the German top flight last May, for TSV 1860 München. He reportedly has the option of a second term with the Austrian Bundesliga's bottom club, who have lost their first six matches of the season.

Stevic signs
German side VfL Bochum 1848 have signed Serbo-Montenegrin midfield player Miroslav Stevic on a free transfer from Fenerbahçe SK. The 33-year-old former 1. FC Dynamo Dresden, 1860 München and BV Borussia Dortmund player has agreed a season-long contract.

Albiol loan
Valencia CF have loaned midfield player Miguel Albiol to RC Recreativo de Huelva, who were relegated from the Primera División in June. Albiol, 22, had just returned from a loan spell at Real Murcia CF, but is expected to rejoin Valencia next summer.

Goldberg woe
In Israel, the former Chilean international forward Rodrigo Goldberg has announced that he is leaving Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC after failing to recover from a hernia injury. The 32-year-old is considering retirement. "Part of my heart will always remain here in Israel with Maccabi," he said. "Now I'll begin another part of my life."
