Complete control
Lokomotiv were always in control with recent Georgian signing Mihail Ashvetia scoring twice. Maxim Buznikin, Sergei Ignashevitch and Vladimir Maminov also registered for the visitors, who have now moved into seventh place.
Olic rescues a point
Elsewhere, the most expensive player in Russian league history, Croatian international Ivica Olic, rescued a point for his new club PFC CSKA Moskva. The league leaders were trailing 1-0 to Martin Kushev's goal at FC Shinnik Yaroslavl, but rallied when Olic equalised soon after the interval. "I think we've made a very good signing," said CSKA coach Valeri Gazzaev.
Saturn up to second
FC Saturn Ramenskoye kept up the pressure on CSKA by winning 1-0 at SC Rotor Volgograd with an 89th-minute goal from Alexey Medvedev. FC Dinamo Moskva's 1-1 home draw with FC Rostov-na-Donu allowed Saturn to move into second place in the table, seven points behind CSKA with a game in hand.
