Finland Under-21 coach Kari Ukkonen will leave his post at the end of the year to take the reins of Veikkausliiga side FC TPS Turku from Mika Laurikainen.
Two-year deal
Ukkonen signed a two-year contract on Thursday with an option for a further two years. "It's time to gain some experience of Veikkausliiga coaching as well," he said. "Everything is taken care of in Turku and I'm very eager to start working there."
Allianssi extension
Meanwhile, AC Allianssi have extended head coach Ari Tiittanen's contract until the end of 2005. Assistant coaches Markku Palmroos and Jari Pylvänäinen have also signed new deals which take them up to the same date.
President 'very pleased'
"We are very pleased with the results as well as the way the coaches take care of the team," said Allianssi president Erkki Alaja. "This decision was made in order to give the coaches a chance to continue their good work."
