Two-year deal
The 29-year-old international will join the Premiership club on a two-year contract after he was released from his contract by Portuguese side Sporting Clube de Portugal. Jardel is a prolific goalscorer, who claimed the ESM Golden Shoe with 42 goals in the 2001/02 season.
Plenty of experience
Despite personal problems during the following campaign, Jardel still managed eleven goals in 17 starts for the Lisbon club. He has also played for FC Porto and Galatasaray SK after leaving his native Brazil in 1996.
Manager delighted
Speaking to the club's offical website, Bolton manager Sam Allardyce said: "Signing a player of Jardel's calibre and class underlines our determination to progress in the Premier League this season. He has an excellent track record in European football."
Hoping for success
Jardel was also thrilled with the move. "This is the opportunity I need to resurrect my career," Jardel said. "I still have the ability to score a lot of goals and I want to become a hero in Bolton and be a success in the Premier League."
