News round-up: Carlos Kameni's proposed transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers FC has been cancelled.

Carlos Kameni's transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers FC has collapsed after the player's application for a work permit was rejected.

One-year loan
The 19-year-old Cameroonian international goalkeeper had agreed to join the newly-promoted Premiership side on a one-year loan from Le Havre AC earlier this month, provided he received a British work permit.

Jones 'dumbfounded'
Wolverhampton manager David Jones attended an appeal hearing to determine whether or not Kameni's application would be successful, but was unhappy at the result. "I was very disappointed with the outcome and a bit dumbfounded as to why the appeal was rejected," said Jones.

'Surprised and angry'
"I was very surprised and I'm angry that we've not got him," Jones said. "He can apply for a French passport but that could take months by which time European clubs and the bigger ones from our division will be in for him."

Kovacic on the move
Meanwhile, Croatian forward Miljenko Kovacic has signed for Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Petach-Tikva. The 30-year-old forward, whose previous clubs include NK Dinamo Zagreb, HNK Cibalia and Brescia Calcio, leaves NK Slaven Belupo, although the terms of the contract he has signed with Hapoel have not been made public.
