Belgium round-up: Anderlecht take control

Members

RSC Anderlecht beat K. Sint Truidense VV 3-0 at the weekend to preserve their 100 per cent record.

Dindane opener
The win made it three out of three for the in-form Brussels team, who opened the scoring in the 60th minute when striker Aruna Dindane calmly slotted in. Par Zetterberg grabbed the second eleven minutes later and Walter Baseggio added the third in the closing stages.

Easy win
Second-placed R. Standard de Liège are two points behind having comfortably defeated R. AEC Mons 4-0 in another Saturday game. Alexandros Kaklamanos and Almani Da Silva Moreira scored in the first half before Jonathan Walasiak and Mohammed Aliyu Datti hit the target after the interval.

Club Brugge third
Club Brugge KV, meanwhile, lie third on goal difference following their 3-3 draw at home against RAA Louviéroise. Last season's champions gained the upper hand thanks to Sandy Martens' 18th-minute effort but the visitors equalised eight minutes later through Manaseh Ishiaku.

Last-gasp effort
Andrés Mendoza put Club Brugge 2-1 ahead in the 61st minute, before Mickael Murcy levelled, then edged his side in front as late as the 90th minute. There was more action to come, however, as Mendoza struck to salvage a point in the last minute of injury time.

Lead consolidated
KRC Genk were held to a 2-2 draw by KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen. Striker Cédric Roussel put the visitors ahead in the eleventh minute and midfield player Bernd Thijs consolidated the lead six minutes into the second half.

Valiant comeback
Germinal finally found the net courtesy of a powerful shot from 20-year-old striker Kristof Snelders, but Carl Hoefkens came to the rescue late on to make honours even and take a share of the spoils.

More draws
R. Charleroi SC, who were desperate for a win against Cercle Bruges KSV to move off bottom spot, also had to be content with a draw after their match finished goalless. In other Sunday games, R. Excelsior Mouscron drew 1-1 at home to K. Lierse SK and KVC Westerlo shared the points after a 2-2 draw with KAA Gent. KSK Beveren did manage a win, seeing off K. Sporting Lokeren OV 2-1.
