Article body
There were no draws in the Russian top flight this week but FC Zenit St. Peterburg were the only away winners, 2-1 at FC Torpedo Moskva.
'We played really badly'
Alexander Kerzhakov and Vladimir Bystrov scored the goals to take Zenit to third place in the table with 35 points from their 20 games, but coach Vlastimil Petrzela was unimpressed by his side's performance. "We played really badly and I can't understand how we managed to win," he said.
CSKA still on top
PFC CSKA Moskva remain top of the table as they bounced back from defeat in last week's UEFA Champions League second qualifying round with a 3-0 win against FC Spartak-Alania Vladikavkaz. CSKA's most expensive player, Croatian international Ivica Olic, scored his second goal in as many games for his new team, while Denis Popov added two more.
Saturn in contention
Elsewhere, FC Saturn Ramenskoye won 2-1 at home against FC Rostov and FC Shinnik Yaroslavl overcame FC Uralan Elista by the same margin. FC Krylya Sovetov Samara beat bottom-placed FC Torpedo-Metallurg Moskva 2-0, while Dmitri Loskov's free-kick gave reigning champions FC Lokomotiv Moskva a 1-0 win against FC Chernomorets Krasnodarskiy Kray.
Spartak strike back
The game between FC Spartak Moskva and SC Rotor Volgograd was headed for a 2-2 draw until Roman Pavlyuchenko scored a goal in added time to give all three points to Spartak. However, no added time was needed in Kazan where FC Rubin Kazan pulled off the shock result of the weekend, winning 2-1 against high-flying FC Dinamo Moskva with two goals from Brazilian Roni.
