Eggen break costs Le Mans

Members

News round-up: Le Mans UC 72 have suffered a setback after Dan Eggen broke a bone in his foot.

Spell on sidelines
The former Norwegian international will be out of action for at least a month after an x-ray revealed the problem. Eggen will be unable to help his side end a poor start to the Ligue 1 season, with Le Mans having taken only two points from their opening five league games.

New face
Danish club Viborg FF, another struggling side, have lifted their spirits by signing Nigeria forward Victor Ezeji on loan from Enyimba FC in his homeland. The 22-year-old will play for the Superliga club until December when all parties will have the chance to agree on a permanent three-year contact. Ezeji has played twice for his country, having also represented them at Under-23 and Olympic level.

Milner move
In England, talented youngster James Milner has left Leeds United AFC for a month's loan at second division Swindon Town FC. North of the border, Scottish side Motherwell FC have signed midfield player Jason Dair on a 12-month contract. The player left Dunfermline Athletic FC last week and will be reunited with former coach Terry Butcher.

Coming together
Finally, officials, police and fans are coming together in Bulgaria to coordinate the fight against football hooliganism. Sports minister Vasil Ivanov, police director Vasil Vasilev and fans' representatives met to discuss the recent tragic events that saw a 22-year-old female fan seriously injured by a missile thrown during the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round match between PFC CSKA Sofia and Galatasaray SK.

Way forward
It was decided that special police officers will accompany fans on away trips and all will work together on a list of banned items. Supporters' groups will also appoint stewards, trained by police, to help maintain order in stadiums.
