Article body
Heavy blow
Belgian striker Van Hout fractured his cheekbone in Sunday's 2-0 German Bundesliga defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt in a collision with Alexander Schur, and will miss the next six weeks after undergoing an operation.
Mixed news
Meanwhile, defender Pletsch is also on the sidelines after tearing a stomach muscle and will be out for two weeks. However, Swiss goalkeeper Jörg Stiel is set to resume training after overcoming a ruptured knee ligament.
Back in Belgrade
FC Lokomotiv Moskva midfield player Nemanja Vucicevic has rejoined Serbo-Montenegrin club OFK Beograd on loan. Vucicevic, who moved to Lokomotiv from OFK in 2001, has made only 22 appearances for the Russian champions, and head coach Yuri Semin has allowed him to return to the Prva savezna liga contenders to gain first-team football.
Wright mystery
Everton FC's England international goalkeeper Richard Wright faces exploratory surgery on his knee and several weeks on the sidelines. The 26-year-old injured his knee in a match against Charlton Athletic FC last month, but scans have so far failed to reveal the extent of the problem.
Berger setback
Portsmouth FC will be without Czech international midfield player Patrik Berger for about three weeks because of a groin strain. Berger limped off during the first half of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Arsenal FC.
