Article body
Poor start
Grosjean's departure came the day after a goalless draw at home to Cercle Brugge KSV, which left Mons 16th in the Belgian top flight, with four points from a possible 21.
Assistant to Trapattoni
Brio, who is Italian, served his coaching apprenticeship as assistant to Giovanni Trapattoni at first Juventus and then Cagliari Calcio in the early to mid-1990s. More recently he has been working as a television pundit. As a player, Brio, who is now 47, was with Juventus from 1978-90.
Roussel loss
Grosjean had been at Mons since the summer of 2002. They finished ninth last term but lost leading scorer Cedric Roussel to KRC Genk in the summer.
