Article body
Bounce back
PSV were in top form as they bounced back from their 2-1 defeat at the hands of AS Monaco FC in the UEFA Champions League in midweek. They now lie one point ahead of Ajax, having collected 13 from five matches.
Kezman double
Kezman put PSV ahead early on and collected his eighth goal of the season when he beat Edwin Zoetebier from close range in the second half. Belgian international Thomas Buffel had equalised in the 20th minute and it took Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to make sure of the result in the closing stages.
Boukhari goals
On Sunday, Ajax lost 4-2 at NAC Breda. Nordin Boukharin opened the scoring and Johan Elmander doubled the lead for the home team at the outset of the second half before hitting the team's third eleven minutes later.
Seedorf clincher
A blunder from Hungarian goalkeeper Gabor Babos after a shot from Victor Sikora and a goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave Ajax hope. Stefano Seedorf, however, secured the victory three minutes into injury time, giving his side their first home win against Ajax since 1996.
Alkmaar third
AZ Alkmaar fought hard for a resounding 3-1 win over SC Heerenveen to go third. Ali Elkhattabi's eleventh-minute opener ensured an excellent start in front of his own fans but Richard Knopper equalised for the visitors three minutes before the break. Barry van Galen restored the advantage with a 44th-minute penalty and Kenneth Perez sealed the victory eleven minutes into the second half.
Points shared
FC Groningen and FC Utrecht drew 1-1 with both goals coming before the break. Belgian Stefaan Tanghe opened the visitors' account soon after the first whistle but Glenn Salmon equalised in the 21st minute.
Mathijsen winner
Joris Mathijsen slammed in a last-minute goal to hand Willem II a 2-1 home victory against FC Zwolle. Dmitri Shoukov put the hosts ahead but Georgi Hristov thought he had saved a point for the bottom club 12 minutes before the final whistle.
Kone leveller
Struggling SBV Vitesse picked up their second point of the season courtesy of a 1-1 draw against Roda JC Kerkrade. Emile Mbamba, who replaced the injured Matthew Amoah, put Vitesse in front before Roda's only new signing, Arouane Kone, levelled four minutes before half-time.
Winless ADO
Second division champions ADO Den Haag are still without a win in the top flight, going down 2-1 to RBC Roosendaal because of defender Robert Molenaar's decisive second-half strike. Sammy Youssouf's opener was cancelled out by Peter Hofstede's leveller.
