Article body
Back in action
Adamec has signed a one-year contract and replaces Libor Fasiang, Slovan's caretaker coach since the sacking in September of Jozef Valovic. The move marks a quick return to the top flight for the 61-year-old Adamec, who left FC Spartak Trnava during the summer.
Slovan return
A former Czechoslovakian international striker, Adamec spent three seasons with Slovan as a player. During a long coaching career, he has led several clubs including DAC Dunajská Streda, FK Dukla Banská Bystrica, AŠK Inter Bratislava, Tatran Presov, CU Bohemians Praha and FC Zlín.
Poor form
Slovan are currently second from bottom of the ten-team Superleague and were knocked out of the Slovakian Cup in September.
