Marin moves on from Petrolul

Members

Florin Marin has become the second coaching casualty of the Romanian season after leaving FC Petrolul Ploiesti.

'No chance to work'
Marin decided to step down after Petrolul drew 1-1 with FC Universitatea Craiova on Friday evening. "Those who plotted against me now have what they want," he said. "Since I came to Petrolul I have been insulted and there has been a campaign against me. That is not an atmosphere conducive to work."

All change
Marin's last match in charge was against Universitatea, whose coach Sorin Cartu quit his post last Sunday and who had a caretaker management team and new club president, Adrian Mititelu, in place for the game.

Slow start
Petrolul are second bottom of the table with seven points from eight league games, and team captain Dinu Todoran, who missed a 26th-minute penalty against Universitatea, has also announced his intention to leave the club.
