Outstanding campaign
Borgvardt, 23 and in his first year in Icelandic football after failing to make the grade with Danish club AGF Århus, had an outstanding campaign as FH finished runners-up in both the Premier League and the Icelandic Cup. The Dane received his prize from French great Michel Platini.
Coach's reward
Borgvardt's trainer at FH, Ólafur Jóhannesson, was voted best coach, while the award for most promising young player went to 20-year-old midfield player Ólafur Ingi Skúlason, who was on loan at Fylkir from England's Arsenal FC.
