Morris suspended by Leeds

Leeds officials said they "had a meeting with Jody Morris and his solicitor this morning" and that "in accordance with the standard provisions of the player's contract of employment, he has been suspended for up to 14 days to enable the club to conduct an internal investigation".

Everton's defensive woe
Meanwhile, Everton FC have lost defenders Alan Stubbs and Alessandro Pistone to injury. Former Internazionale FC full-back Pistone needs surgery on a hernia problem which will keep him out of action for up to six weeks. Centre-back Stubbs, meanwhile, has a groin injury and faces a month on the sidelines.
