Rising reputation
The 30-year-old Haglund was given a chance following the resignation of Anders Grönhagen. Haglund is untested in the Swedish top flight but has a growing reputation after success with third division side Laholms FK. The club have come from relative obscurity to challenge for a place in the second division.
Cup finalists
"There were a lot of interesting candidates to choose from, but after reviewing everyone closely, we believe that Magnus has what it takes to bring the club forward," said Elfsborg chairman Bengt Skans. Elfsborg, who will play in the Swedish Cup final on 1 November, still have to appoint an assistant for Haglund.
'Fantastic opportunity'
"This is very exciting, and I'm really looking forward to the challenge," said Haglund. "It's what I always dreamt of and it feels great that Elfsborg have given me this fantastic opportunity."
