UEFA makes its latest contribution to the campaign to eliminate racism from football on Wednesday, when its staff side play a friendly match against a local multi-ethnic team.
Geneva opponents
UEFA's side play the Geneva-based Africa-Suisse sporting organisation at the Stade de Colovray, opposite UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland with the action getting under way at 20.15CET.
Regular match
The match has become a regular part of UEFA's activities during the annual Action Week Against Racism, which is organised by the Europe-wide Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network, one of UEFA's charity partners.
HQ visit
European football's governing body is also organising an exhibition at the entrance to its House of European Football in Nyon, and the team from Geneva will visit UEFA's headquarters before the match.
United against discrimination
The FARE Action Week is currently being staged at football venues across the continent, and continues until 28 October. Football clubs, supporters and ethnic minorities are staging a varied mixture of events and campaigns designed to transmit the message that discrimination and intolerance have no place in football.
Good practice guide
UEFA and FARE have been close partners for a number of seasons. The European governing body has been at the forefront of the anti-racist movement, and recently issued a good practice guide which is being circulated to all of Europe's national associations, leagues and clubs, as well as to UEFA's list of referees, match delegates and venue directors.
