News round-up: Massimiliano Cappellini is back at Empoli FC while US Lecce striker Mirko Vucinic is injured.

Two-year deal
The 32-year-old left the Tuscan club in the summer after seven years when his contract expired, but he now returns after signing a new two-year deal. Cappellini is an experienced player who has had spells with AC Milan, Piacenza Calcio, Atalanta BC, Como Calcio and Foggia Calcio. Empoli are currently second from bottom of Serie A with just two points from five matches.

Vucinic sidelined
US Lecce striker Mirko Vucinic will be out of action for about a month after twisting his left knee in training. The 20-year-old Serbian has appeared in all five games for Lecce this season, scoring once.

Teixeira injury
Dutch side RKC Waalwijk expect to be without defender Virgilio Teixeira for over a month due to a knee injury. The 30-year-old suffered a ligament tear in his right knee in the final minutes of the 1-0 defeat at SC Heerenveen on Saturday and faces an estimated recovery time of between four and six weeks.
