Double delight for HJK

Members

HJK Helsinki completed a domestic double with a 2-1 win against AC Allianssi in the Finnish Cup final.

A golden goal from Joakim Jensen gave HJK Helsinki a 2-1 win against AC Allianssi in the Finnish Cup final on Saturday, enabling the newly crowned champions to complete their second domestic double.

HJK recovery
The Swedish defender scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 113th minute to give HJK a victory that had looked out of reach when substitute Mikko Paatelainen gave Allianssi a 77th-minute lead.

Late equaliser
However, striker Juho Mäkelä equalised six minutes from time and paved the way for Jensen's dramatic intervention. HJK previously completed the league and cup double in 1981.

RoPS return
Meanwhile, RoPS Rovaniemi will return to the Veikkausliiga next season despite a 3-2 defeat at FC KooTeePee in the promotion/relegation play-off. RoPS won the first leg 4-1 and won promotion to the Finnish first division by virtue of their 6-4 aggregate success.
