Jorge takes charge of CSKA

All change
Jorge replaces Valeri Gazzaev, who stepped down earlier this month after leading the team to their first Russian league title in October. The new man's contract details have not been disclosed. Experienced trainer Dmitri Galyamin will work alongside Jorge, while Gazzaev's assistants Nikolay Latysh and Aleksandr Kuznetsov will leave the club.

First meeting
The 57-year-old will meet his new players for the first time in Turkey, where CSKA flew this morning for a training camp which will include a friendly match against Antalyspor. "We were nervous waiting for a new coach, but now it's resolved," said CSKA's Russian international midfield player Rolan Gusev. "I don't know much about Artur Jorge, we will only meet him in Turkey, but it will be interesting to work with a foreign coach."

Major success
Jorge's last job was helping AA Coimbra avoid relegation from the Portuguese SuperLiga last season, but his biggest achievement was winning the European Champion Clubs' Cup with FC Porto in 1987. Aside from Porto, he has coached several teams including SL Benfica, Matra Racing Club de Paris, Paris Saint-Germain FC, SBV Vitesse, CD Tenerife, and the Switzerland and Portugal national sides.
