'Staying up'
Buljan replaces Damir Rupcic, Marsonia's former assistant coach who took over after both Predrag Stilinovic and Davor Mladina failed to revive the club's flagging fortunes. "I believe I can do a good job with this team and that we will stay in the top division," Buljan said.
Lowly status
Rupcic's reign ended with the team second from bottom of the First League, with 13 points from 15 matches. Marsonia chairman Dragan Maric said of his successor: "We have chosen a real expert this time." Buljan was in charge at Marsonia during the 2001/02 campaign but eventually resigned.
