The former Danish international, who played for Brøndy IF, leaves second division outfit Næstved BK to take up the post. Midtjylland currently occupy sixth place in the 12-team Danish top flight, having taken 25 points from 19 games.
'Attitude and knowledge'
"Erik has been chosen because of his attitude to football and his great knowlege of the game," said Midtjylland director Jens Ørgaard during the press conference at which Rasmussen was unveiled. "I am sure he can make our team an attractive team that can control its matches. Furthermore, Erik is used to dealing with the press."
