Guimarães oust Inácio

Members

Vitória SC have parted company with coach Augusto Inácio and replaced him with the experienced Jorge Jesus.

'Mutual consent'
Guimarães chairman António Pimenta Machado confirmed the change on Monday, saying: "Inácio is no longer our coach, we reached an agreement by mutual consent." The new man in charge, Jorge Jesus, has been without a club since leaving CF Estrela da Amadora last spring, shortly before their promotion to the top flight.

Sporting success
Inácio was appointed by Guimarães in February 2001, having made his name leading Sporting Clube de Portugal to the 1999/00 league title - their first championship in 18 years. He then helped Guimarães avoid relegation in the last match of 2001/02, and guided the club to tenth and fourth-place finishes in the following seasons.
