Free transfer
The 34-year-old midfield player, whose contract will start on 1 February 2004 and run until summer 2005, has signed for the Superligaen side on a free transfer from Chinese outfit Tianjin TEDA, where he has played for the past four months. Tøfting previously spent four months in prison after an incident in a Copenhagen restaurant.
International retirement
Tøfting, who won 41 caps before retiring from international football after the 2002 FIFA World Cup, made his first-team debut for AGF in 1988/89. He was with the club for the next five seasons before moving to Odense BK. He also played for German sides Hamburger SV and MSV Duisburg, and English Premiership team Bolton Wanderers FC, who released him earlier this year.
