Csaplár set for Slavia post

Members

Josef Csaplár will become the new coach of SK Slavia Praha after agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal.

Disappointing autumn
Beránek was sacked after a disappointing first half of the Czech season. Slavia entered the winter break fourth in the 1.liga, nine points behind leaders FC Baník Ostrava, and exited the UEFA Cup in the second round, beaten by PFC Levski Sofia.

Title success
The 41-year-old Csaplár, who will sign the deal tomorrow, is joining Slavia from FC Slovan Liberec, where he has enjoyed two successful years working as joint-coach alongside Ladislav Skorpil. Together they led the club to their first league title in 2002.

Griga lined up
Stanislav Griga, the former SK Slovan Bratislava and Slovakia Under-21 coach, could replace Csaplár at Liberec while Skorpil's own future there is uncertain after an offer to coach the Czech Republic Under-21 team.
