Latvian international striker Maris Verpakovskis has signed for Ukrainian Premier League champions FC Dynamo Kyiv.
International double
In addition to lifting four Latvian First Division titles and three Latvian Cups with Skonto FC, Verpakovskis scored twice in the two-legged UEFA EURO 2004™ play-off with Turkey to put himself in the shop window. The 24-year-old forward has scored a total of 10 goals in 28 international appearances as well as finding the net 47 times in 93 league games for Skonto.
Five-year deal
Verpakovskis has signed a five-year contract with Dynamo, who are currently second in the table behind FC Shakhtar Donetsk, and will join up with his new team-mates in January.
