Reinaldo masterminds PSG win

Members

Paris Saint-Germain FC, inspired by striker Reinaldo, beat RC Strasbourg 3-2 in Ligue 1 on Wednesday night.

Monaco on top
AS Monaco FC still lead the standings with 36 points from 15 games followed by champions Lyon on 30. PSG are third on goal difference, while RC Lens, who defeated bottom side Toulouse FC 2-1, have 28 points from 16 matches.

Ljuboja opener
PSG were full of confidence after their 1-0 win at Olympique de Marseille at the weekend, but went 1-0 behind in the 14th minute when Serbia and Montenegro striker Danijel Ljuboja scored from a free-kick.

Reinaldo reply
Ljuboja's compatriot Branko Boskovic quickly equalised and Reinaldo, who arrived at PSG this season just as FIFA World Cup-winner Ronaldinho was departing for FC Barcelona, finished off a fine move on the hour to make it 2-1. The Brazilian then set up Portugal's Pauleta for PSG's third. The Parc des Princes crowd had a scare when Abdelilah Fahmi pulled one back for Strasbourg but it was too little too late.

Auxerre stay in touch
AJ Auxerre stayed in seventh place after a 1-0 win against Le Mans UC 72. Led by the league's leading scorer, Djibril Cissé, Auxerre threatened to overrun their opponents in the early stages but they had to be content with an own goal from Yannick Fischer in the 19th minute following a corner.

LOSC win at last
Lille OSC finally won a game after 12 successive failures, a creditable 2-0 victory at home to FC Nantes Atlantique. The match between Montpellier Hérault SC and FC Sochaux Montbéliard was postponed because of heavy rain. Montpellier said their stadium had been hit by flooding much worse than that of December 2002 which caused it to be closed for a month. Their game against Marseille on 13 December is also off.
