Ganea galvanises Wolves

Members

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC have signed Romanian international striker Ionel Ganea on a six-month loan.

Awaiting confirmation
The English Premiership's bottom side said on their website on Tuesday that the deal was subject to the 30-year-old obtaining a work permit and international clearance. Ganea was released by Turkish side Bursaspor in mid-December, having been an ever-present in Romania's UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying campaign and scoring 19 goals in 40 games for his country.

Goalscoring Ganea
Ganea joined Bursaspor in June from VfB Stuttgart, having scored 34 goals in 106 appearances over four seasons with the Bundesliga side. Wolves are three points adrift at the bottom of the English top flight, but have a game in hand over the four teams immediately above them. Should David Jones' side avoid relegation, Ganea has been promised a 12-month extension to the deal.
