Maaskant is Willem II choice

RBC Roosendaal coach Robert Maaskant will leave to take charge of Willem II at the end of the season.

Willem II have appointed Robert Maaskant to take over as coach at the end of the season.

Maaskant's summer switch
Current RBC Roosendaal coach Maaskant will leave his current team and succeed Willem II caretaker André Wetzel on 1 July. Wetzel, formerly the assistant coach, took over from Feyenoord's new technical manager Mark Wotte.

Three-year contract
Maaskant, who turns 35 on Saturday, has signed a three-year contract. He has previously coached at Go Ahead Eagles and FC Zwolle and had a cosmopolitan playing career that took in spells in the United States and Scotland. His new side could be challenging in Europe next season, currently fifth in the Eredivisie, five places ahead of Roosendaal.
