Geiger departure
The 42-year-old Rueda has signed a contract until June 2005 after being appointed as replacement for Alain Geiger, who left the club a fortnight ago for Grasshopper-Club. Rueda had been in charge at second division Wohlen FC but was able to leave due to a clause in his contract.
Confident of success
"I know the surroundings here and some of the players. I think I'm the right coach for Aarau," Rueda said. The former Grasshopper, FC Wettingen 93, FC Luzern and Neuchâtel Xamax FC defender won five caps for his country and was a part of the Switzerland squad at the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
