Former RSC Anderlecht and Belgium goalkeeper Filip De Wilde has signed a six-month deal with KSC Lokeren OV.

Former RSC Anderlecht and Belgium goalkeeper Filip De Wilde has signed a six-month contract with KSC Lokeren OV after cutting short a spell in Austria with SK Sturm Graz.

Numerous injuries
The 39-year-old, who left Anderlecht in July after being overlooked following a string of injuries, said on Wednesday: "I played 17 games with Sturm Graz and am back at a good level."

Family reasons
De Wilde said he left Austria because he missed his family in Belgium but also blamed Sturm's poor performances. "The club was not winning and I have always been used to being a contender," he said.

Lengthy career
De Wilde played 33 times for Belgium after beginning his career in 1980. He also played for Sporting Clube de Portugal during the mid-1990s.
