AFC Ajax have agreed to loan Finnish centre-half Petri Pasanen to English Premiership side Portsmouth FC for the remainder of the season.
European stage
Pasanen, who has 17 international caps to his name, still has 18 months left to run on his contract at the Amsterdam ArenA. But the 23-year-old, who made three appearances in Ajax's unsuccessful 2003/04 UEFA Champions League campaign, could be in line for a debut against Aston Villa FC on Tuesday night.
Struggling Portsmouth
Portsmouth are currently struggling in 16th place in the Premiership, one point above the relegation zone, having won just one of their last seven league matches.
