Pantelic heads Zvezda signings

Members

FK Crvena Zvezda have signed three new players, including striker Marko Pantelic, their nemesis last season.

New signings
The 26-year-old forward is one of three new signings by coach Slavoljub Muslin, along with defender Bojan Miladinovic and goalkeeper Boban Bajkovic, and joins from FK Sartid on a two-and-a-half year contract. Since hitting the headlines with the only goal of the cup final, he has scored eight league goals this term and made his debut for Serbia and Montenegro in the November friendly against Poland.

Back home
Pantelic started out in Zvezda's junior teams before embarking on a professional career which has included stops at Iraklis FC, Paris Saint-Germain FC, RC Celta de Vigo, SK Sturm Graz and FK Obilic. "Everyone must be happy when they come back home," said Pantelic. "I believe in myself, I am not afraid. Crvena Zvezda have some quality strikers, but I think that I can earn a place in the starting eleven."

Winter training camp
Of the two other new faces, defender Miladinovic, 21, joins from FK Napredak while the 18-year-old goalkeeper Bajkovic comes from second division FK Lovcen. Zvezda, the Serbo-Montenegrin league leaders, travelled today to the Turkish city of Antalya for a winter training camp ahead of the resumption of the season on 21 February.
