Bech back as Pedersen leaves OB

Members

Uffe Pedersen has stepped down as Odense BK coach to be replaced by Troels Bech and Klavs Rasmussen.

Uffe Pedersen has stepped down from the helm of Danish Superliga club Odense BK with immediate effect. Replacing him are Troels Bech and Klavs Rasmussen, Pedersen's former assistant, who have signed 18-month contracts and will share the role as joint-coaches.

Family decision
Personal reasons have been cited for Pederson's decision. He said: "The job as head coach takes a lot of time, and you really do not have any spare time. As the job has been interfering with the time I want to spend with my family, I have decided to retire." Pederson will remain a talent scout with the club.

'Great job'
OB director Kim Brink said: "Uffe Pedersen's wish to retire as head coach is, of course, most regrettable, but we have decided to grant it. Uffe Pedersen has done a great job as our head coach, and he has contributed considerably to OB's positive development during the past couple of years"

Duo reunited
Bech ended his first two-year spell at OB in 2002 to take charge of FC Midtjylland, where he was sacked last month. Rasmussen worked as Bech's assistant during his previous spell in charge. OB, fourth in the Danish Superleague, are the sixth club in the 12-team division to change their coach this season.
